Congrats on getting through an entire post, without having the comment section edit for you pro bono.

“Well gee, if they were employees then maybe we’d be even more liable for one of our employees raping Lizzy Seeberg and somehow getting away with it with our help.”

Self-serving nonsense from a liar and a cheat. Brady’s statements should be treated with the same derision as Goodell’s. Goodell is not a tyrant for attempting to police on-field misconduct. That’s basically the only kind of misconduct he can properly investigate and punish.

No, my problem is I don’t understand the scale. What is good, what is bad. What is the differences in colors? fractional or full points? No way to tell.

This scale makes no sense... what is good, what is bad? some how all the colors are both less than average pps and greater than average pps...

“And so, amid accusations that Gawker, under Tommy’s leadership, has acted callously toward a family, I remember what he has done for mine, and my heart breaks. The good Tommy did for me and my wife and kids—when he did not have to, when the straight course of his own selfish interests did not call for it...”

“I am not here to talk about the Gawker post...”

Yes, but Gawker has to double down on their “it’s always our right to be an asshole and don’t you ever call us out on it” ethos.

Guarantee that Rousey double shank legs Coerria right off of a rear choke helix. If Coerria lasts through all of that, I’d be surprised if Rousey doesn’t immediately force a Janckman’s Plexus on her and shatter her buttonhook. Coerria’s only shot is a quick, accurate Miranda’s Reversal into a hog-nosed bat tap. Once

Yeah, and I don't disagree with your premise. The college basketball experience does benefit some players, but only incidentally if not completely accidentally.

Do you pay back the news outlets that you take stories from to get clicks, which in turn puts money in your pocket? Since you aren’t breaking any news, it seems like something you should do according to your logic.

This is the kind of “hot take” that this site usually skewers, “He should give up pay, take another job, do something I wouldn’t in the same situation”

Calipari could self-immolate in protest of the NCAA and no matter how admirable it is it wont change a fucking thing.

Boy Albert that’s a really novel concept and SO FUCKING EASY FOR A GUY WHO WRITES ABOUT ALFREDO SAUCE TO POSIT.

WHY THOUGH? Why should he do any of these things? You NEVER address that.

“How about if he refused pay?” - How about if he coached the games on the back of a unicorn?

How’s the weather up there?

I”m guessing John’s supposed to earn his livelihood with a Deadspin writer’s praise? What an honor that’d be for him!

Albert, I usually love your stuff, but you’re living in a fantasy world on this one. The NCAA would come down on him just as hard as it has come down on everyone who challenges it. Do you really, really think that the NCAA would hesitate for even a second to ban him because of “public opinion”? When have they cared

Rather than asking coaches to turn down seven figure salaries based on morals why not ask the student-athletes to take a stand against the NCAA’s unfair practices? Nobody is forcing them to sign their names on the dotted line and perform one year of unpaid labor in the hope that it turns into a lucrative career later.
