When google voice was first released, it was rejected because it allowed you to make calls without using your cellular talk time. Apple rejected it until google removed the feature, which now forwards the calls to your iPhone number.

Apple maps seems to use a TomTom api of some sort, I'm surprised they didn't just get a license to use TomTom's data as well. It's disastrous how bad the data is.
