Yeah, my mother used to occasionally breed dogs and she rescued as well. I know they have the ability to feel it, but it isn't as well developed and it is less traumatizing/ dangerous when they are that little vs older. Aside from showing them in the ring, she also did field work and hunted with them.

Depends on the breed of dog. Some dogs are born tailless, and others (such as German Shorthaired Pointers) have tails docked and dewclaws removed for their safety. It's a lot less painful to have them removed at 3 days old (before they can feel it) than it is to have them rip one off and bleed profusely.

I am going to have to disagree about Angelina's dress being anything other than tragic.
