I would have loved to see one more season, set maybe in the late 90s, covering the beginning of internet porn/escorts. There’s something to be said for keeping it short and sweet though.

The Deuce is an exceptional show. I hesitate to say it’s as good as The Wire (because what is?) but it’s very close. Maggie Gyllenhaal gives the performance of a lifetime and she should have won all the awards for it.

Because I’m a masochist, I bought Nioh 2 on the way home from work despite not absolutely loving the first one. I’ve watched a few videos and it seems like the stuff I didn’t like was at least ameliorated. Gonna wait until tomorrow to load this baby up and yell at the TV.

It’s gotten much worse since the latest redesign. I’ve found myself trying to load the comments 5 times or, much more often, just giving up and reading something else.

How’s The Solitudes? Little, Big is one of my favorite novels of all time, but I haven’t read that one.

I feel that AV Club even somewhat signal-boosting this grift is highly questionable.

Blame poptimism. I’m a die-hard synthpop fan and I even I think it goes too far sometimes. Corporate pop is inherently disposable. That doesn’t mean it’s bad to enjoy it, but don’t kid yourself about what it is.

Since the annual Return to Yharnam even is going on right now, I’ve spent the weekend diving back into Bloodborne. It’s always fun to help people get past Father Gascoigne or Blood Starved Beast. Also played some Cities: Skylines, which is probably the best city builder game I’ve played. I haven’t had a lot of time…

Every time I see someone shitting on this movie, the first thing that comes to mind is the 2012 movie starring Mads Mikkelsen and I have a kneejerk reaction of, “Hey now, that was good! Pretty messed up in a real world sort of way, but good!”

Only corporate manufactured pop acts are acceptable listening for the too-cool-for-school scribes of the AV Club.
