Came here to say this exact thing. I know with ice pretty much all bets are off. But don't panic brake, and you might be able to correct it. There were a few times in 6 where it looked like they would have been ok if they didnt mash the brakes.

yeah, in video 6, at :56 seconds in, that jeep would of pulled of that drift like a boss (assuming they didn't over-countersteer like the guy at 3:20, seriously, i was just yelling "STOP STEERING!!") if they hadn't slammed on the brakes. they could have hit the gas and gone straight down the road like they meant to do

It does in a car that has the rear wheels driven (RWD or AWD) but you have to initiate the turn first.

At least 3 of those videos are from the Seattle area, home to some of the worst drivers I have ever seen. It snowed here a couple years ago, and we got 2.5" of accumulation. People were abandoning their cars on I-5/I-90/I-405 because they couldn't figure out how to drive in it.

I hope it snows like crazy this winter.

Racescort666 recommends this post. You are correct. Many people panic and brake. This may lock their tires (which makes things much worse) but at the very least it weight transfers to the front. When the rear tires are unloaded they have less traction the car spins.

6.) West Virginia drift

No worries baby, we got four-wheel drive and a V8. No brain, but no worries.

Do more heavy satire, Jalopnik. Do it.

Keep Jalopnik weird.

Looks like some kind of paper cutter

It's not a fat old man's car anymore because the fat old man wouldn't fit in those seats. Excellent.

BUT HOW DID THEY GET THERE?!!!

Police interceptor package only.

"This Headline is clickbait"

Boost gauge!

I'm seeing a little Bentley Continental here !

Not sure if I hate the smug electric car driver who thinks he can plug his smugmobile in anywhere or the government that wastes time and money over a few cents
