I’d also like to add (since the time limit for editing my initial post expired), thank you for posting this. Calvin & Hobbes was almost therapeutic for me as a kid, and did a phenomenal job with portraying what smaller, weaker kids (like I was) had to endure. The fact that Calvin so regularly retreated into his own

One of the most common phrases I hear with bullying is that “Every kid should stand up for themselves.” That the easiest way to defeat a bully is with strength.

There has not been a Monster Factory yet that did not leave me crying from laughing so hard at some point.

And yet, to get GOOD at it, it does. It takes skill and talent at sociability, at improv, and being entertaining or at least informative. Someone who is boring isn’t going to be interesting. And if someone isn’t interesting, people aren’t going to be interested in watching.

Check out their podcast: My Brother, My Brother, and Me

Monster Factory is the best, the McElroy brothers are consistently hilarious. They’re basically perfect at getting out of the way of each others’ jokes while still stepping in and contributing their own humor to each bit. Everyone should go listen to My Brother, My Brother and Me, and/or their D&D fantasy-adventure

Because they like them, and they want them to keep doing more. It’s a matter of stability. Now sure, you could argue for the guys that got several million views, not so much, but the smaller channels for sure.

God, Monster Factory is too funny. I don’t think I ever found YouTube videos that lasted upwards of 20 minutes that I actually enjoyed before these, but I feel like I could watch them forever.

I feel like the one thing you can’t question about Blizzard is how long will they support a game. Diablo 3 released 4 years ago, it’s expansion 2 years ago, and it’s still getting major updates. They treat all their games like this.

They even recently patched Diablo 2 and Warcraft 3.

This is what I usually do. When I cosplay and see stuff I like, I tell the vendors (who usually do want a pic) that I’ll be back in regular clothes later on because it’s a lot easier to relax and browse when in jeans rather than covered in spandex lol

People like it, so I guess yeah, you are missing something.

Huh, that’s odd (the whole not buy comics/items argument) because from what I’ve seen of the cosplay scene is that you either bring someone along with you to hold items/carry water/ etc. or you make sure to get one of the multi-day passes and set aside time to buy art and comics over the course of the con.
Sure, they

The problem was never that they turned down the solicitation. And really, it wouldn't have even been a big deal to turn down the solicitation in a snarky way, although it was a bit mean and totally unnecessary to blast it out on Facebook (though without any identifying information attached). The real problem was the

The issue at hand with Sante Fe wasn’t them not wanting the cosplay guest, the problem was the unprofessional attitude that they presented throughout the entire ordeal from the initial post to every reply he posted afterwards.

As an Animator: Kudos!

As an animator I can tell you it’s less of a technical challenge and more of a stylistic choice to do it or not. Most video game directors calling the shots do not come from an animation background and when you try to explain how breaking the rig and deforming the character will be an aesthetic plus and enhance the

....as explicitly mentioned in the article.

oh, these practices are VITAL in their animation and have been for many years.
