Ive gotten these alerts as well in PHX during the summer. It's nice to see it though as it helps when I don't get a notification for something like poor air quality or heat wave warnings.

to be fair, the complaints was in Reddit which matches the same demo.

Pannenkoek is a treasure. His breakdown of Mario64 is not just impressive but also somehow keeps the charm of the game alive. You would think that finding out how the magic trick was done would make the trick lackluster, his explanations makes the world even bigger than before somehow.

The game you’re thinking of was Super Mario Bros 3.

I have nothing but respect for pannenkoek2012. Every video seems to useless to a casual player, but his breakdown of every possible system has lead to a massive wellspring of knowledge as to how developers overcome weird and estoic issues.

From personal experience (roommate ran a high-level FC), it’s less of someone did something wrong and more like they’ve been reported enough times to warrant investigation.

Love FF4 so much! This was my first FF game to play and the rock that every other RPG had to live by to. The death fake-outs where impactful as a kid since (back then) perma-death wasn’t something we really dealt with. Even PC games with perma-death was less “I’m losing someone” and more “time to restart the save…

Might No 9 is just like MM1 for me in that it has so many issues that the later games fixed. The MM series since the first one greatly improves every little bit of the first game, and it seems like Mn9 (if it gets a squeal) will show the same uptick in fixes and refinement.

I’m still on a break with FFXIV (especially with Overwatch taking up what little time I have these days) but damn it’s hard not to think of it everyday.

Side note: What makes this setup so devastating is that the support player is actively removing themselves from getting short-term rewards (PotG, kills, credit towards their “on fire” meter) and instead boosting someone to become much more stronger than the sum of their parts.

I know you’re trying to make a point, but that’s really not a good place to start with.
