are you referring to the darker, more sullen aesthetic? I think for a similar environment, Banner Story does it a lot better. Of course, there is a sort of charm in its look, but I’d rather it look like the Lunar Silver Star Harmony remake than your standard blocky PSP game.

You bring up a great point. It’s mostly the helmet (even if it is iconic) that’s dated from a design perspective. A remnant from an earlier, boxier generation constrained by the original XBox’s processing power :)

from a design perspective, Master Chief’s armor is extremely dated. From a thematic perspective (i.e., soldiers in space armor), not at all. There are just so many better, more modern examples of soldiers in space armor out there. Master Chief’s still driving the same old VW so to speak when everyone else has Teslas.
