My daughter is almost 9 mos and just has 4 of her top front teeth poke through over the course of about a week. She was into the regular Sophie when she was first teething, but now she’s into crazy weirdo Sophie with the loops. I think the ridges & bumps are more interesting to her mouthparts.

Not to be an ass, but Sophie is rubber not plastic. It’s like her thing.

It's an extremely satisfying texture of rubber to chew-go on, give it a try! The long legs and neck make it easy for baby to cram Sophie back into the back gums where the worst teething pain often is. She's also high contrast in simple colors, which appeals to young babies.
