Yeah, he's a white male so I guess that makes him problematic by default.

Agreed totally about people having a redemption fetish. I wouldn't be surprised with the way this season's going if he actually does deliver Cersei Sansa's head on a pike.
One of them is OK, but the spear one and the dagger one look about as fit to be deadly assassins as Karen O.
Part of it is how that storyline continues in the books. No one wants to see it and it would ruin all the good they've done with Sansa's character in the last season.
I started hearing the music from the part where Darth Vader regains his humanity and throws the emperor down the death star reactor, praying that the scene would go on long enough that he'd lose it and would pick up Ramsey and throw him down into a reactor somewhere, but alas.
Well, someone below was complaining that it was insulting and sexist to focus on Theon's reaction, since it minimized the importance of her suffering or something, so it seems like it was a lose-lose situation. I'm with you here though!
The best part was when one of them did one of those spring-get-up things and it was blatant that they'd stopped the camera between her falling back and whoever-it-was springing back up, you think they could have at least made it look competent with CGI or something.
Yeah, that's probably the case. I remember hating the first half of season 4 of Breaking Bad while it was airing (oh great, another week of Jesse being on drugs at a party and TOTALLY DISAFFECTED, MAN) and not being bothered by it at all on binge rewatching. I guess the lesson to take away from this is I should have…
The detail about the ears being cut off was beyond pointless, though, and IMO totally undermined anything tasteful about how the scene was shot.
I just watched Coven last week after hearing nothing but bad things about it since it aired, and was very pleasantly surprised. I really liked it up until the miserable last two episodes. Unlike this season, there are a lot of characters that are really fun to watch. Lily Rabe is by far the best thing about the…
Oh man, your #2 is a great one. That scene is one of the few in the whole run of the show that really kicked me in the gut, yet since it's not as tied into the main plotline I always forget about it by the time I'm in season 5 when rewatching the series. I agree with your reading entirely.
Great interpretation, now that I've read this I can't imagine it meaning anything else.
What's the CZ? I just read your Alien 3 piece and was very impressed by the commentary on the score you included in there, it's far more musically literate than I almost ever see in movie reviews. I'd be curious to see what kind of music site you hang around.
You remember it well, Godzilla is bigger the second time around cause he absorbed the energy from a modern nuclear sub. King Ghidorah and 74 Mechagodzilla are my two favorite sequels by a large margin.
Yes, the score is one of the best in the whole series, it bears a striking resemblance to his score for Yojimbo.
In going through the series again, I was greatly amused by the name of the dildo Vic takes a look at in E3. I'm not sure if this is common knowledge or not, but hey, someone else might find it funny since that seems to be the most popular Aceveda nickname.
