It is to the nearest 5. It follows the rules of basic math. Prices haven't been skewed and I haven't noticed businesses doing it wrong.

I got to see her years ago at the Silver Skate festival in Edmonton. It was amazing. Better live than on a CD.

Also, I know exactly where that picture was taken.

I love the river valley. My favourite part about Edmonton. I live right beside it, looking out over the High Level bridge.

Most of the chemical would be in the eyes of the potato and probably the skin. If they are russet potatoes which I am imagining, they are generally peeled so that would remove more of the solanine. I'm not sure what effect cooking would have. Perhaps boiling them reduces it further?

This is marvelous. I can't wait for them to figure out some of the details of its locomotion on land. It couldn't turn its hands to be palm down, so perhaps they walked on their knuckles or backs of their hands? Bipedal locomotion would be pretty awkward, I imagine. I never knew their hind limbs were that short!

Humans have also evolved to tolerate higher amounts of these substances than other animals. We have been cooking over fire for about a million years.

You should read Death from the Skies by Phil Plait. It is all the ways the world could end. It's very good.

I worked as a baker in a grocery store that was supposed to be high end but did the cheapest, shadiest shit... Anyway, it had a kitchen area and would serve hot meals.

I worked in a bakery and there were a couple of old regulars who liked to butter date squares. I always thought it was odd. They would also butter cinnamon buns though if those were warmed up, a pool of butter would form under them.

No, the sediment she was preserved in was not fine grained enough. Feathers have only been discovered once in fossils from north america as there are not the extremely fine grained stones that are found in Liaoning, China and Solnhofen, Germany.

I like Caustic Soda. It is my favourite podcast. They talk about weird and gross science and people. They are super funny and I loves them.

What game is that?

This is crazy. Now, I'm not a huge McDonalds advocate, but when I worked in one I had a very good experience until we got a new store manager and even then it was not the worst place I have worked in. I wonder if it is different in Canada? The pay wasn't too shitty either; it was better than the other fast food

The Kobe and Wagyu beef thing drives me crazy. In Canada at least, it is never actually from Japan. It is not what they say it is. It is actually in the 'style' of Wagyu beef. It is not worth the huge price they charge. It's not much better than normal Alberta beef. Wagyu and Kobe beef is illegal to import because of

I love that site!

I had the opportunity to actually try black truffle once. I... Was not blown away. It tasted kind of like musty wood.

I must know!

Yup, I learned during my baker's certificate course that some types of food poisoning can take a couple MONTHS to make you sick. This is why it is so hard to track it. It just... Waits. *dramatic music*

Kefalotyri cheese is the shit. BUT! It must be eaten hot. It is horrible cold. If you go to a greek restaurant, get it. Fried cheese with lemon. Om nom nom nom...
