To be frank with you, my mother was like this.  I was born in 1965, my parents were born in the 30's.  I got into a heated argument w/ my mother once about why she treated us the way she did and her honest answer was ‘I didnt have an easy life so why should you?’  Thats pretty messed up, but they arent kidding.

I used to really enjoy Morning Edition but Steve Innskeeper and the crew are becoming more and more like overly protective dads in the T-Ball league making sure everyone hits a homerun to the in field and cheering the most loathsome people around the bases.

Sorry I didnt read this article but I can tell you that the Chicago station is having spring pledge drive. So its unlikely they will take a firm stance on anything that will adversely affect those donations.
