I totally agree about stakes, especially death. At this point, it doesn't matter if someone dies because they will probably come back to life anyway.

This!! People forget that television is driven by advertisers and at this point, they care more about Nielsen ratings than social media. With Nielsen ratings, they can know the age/race/ethnicity/income level/what market the viewer lives in. Social media can't offer that.
