In history is the operative phrase, Scientology had the benefit of seeing where other religions messed up, but messed up anyway (indulgences as one example).

I see your point, but today is what matters. And the fact that Scientology was created at a time when feminism was growing means that it should probably be more progressive about the way it treats women/gay people/etc.

I mentioned Confession, which has fallen out of favor with many Catholics and is not really enforced anymore. That’s the point, the Church isn’t tracking these things, Scientology absolutely tracks its members.
