Yea, I watched the first 4 or so episodes... and man one of those episodes totally focused on rape and it was pretty horrible (though I guess that's a good thing storytelling-wise?). Needless to say... if there's going to be more of that, I can't watch it :(

It's just a stupid translation thing. He's talking about the battlefield version. Since those are two separate things in Japanese (which is why Japan is a number behind the West). So technically that series has been going for only 12 years instead of 15.
