There actually were some great magazines back then in the pre-Internet Era. Computer Gaming World was one of the best. They really had great well balanced reviews (like Scorpia’s RPG section). EGM? Can’t say but even back then I was more of a pc gamer.

I had Super Ghouls and Ghosts on the SNES and had a hell of a time with it (as did everyone). I remember hearing that you have to go through it a second time (maybe from Nintendo Power or something) and ended up just selling the game at Funcoland the next day.
