Georgia Nicolson was such a great protagonist to grow up alongside. Those books and the Princess Diary books made me a hardcore diarist between the ages of 13 and 15. I did my best to emulate all of my favorite book protagonists in my youth, and those were the years when I was devouring both of those series.

Good memories! In middle school we were supposed to write down all the books we read, and while I was a huge bookworm, my teacher was scandalized that I was reading ones with “sex” and “thongs” in the titles.

I loved these books so much when I was growing up, Georgia is like an old friend. My summer camp friends and I all read the first book when we were 13 and tried to write and film a screenplay of it (lol). Thank goodness for the actual movie.

I devoured Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging in 1999. I was about 12 or 13, and I couldn’t believe how FUNNY the book was. I remember reading passages out loud to a friend of mine and we’d just be snort laughing the entire time. It was so wonderful. I never did pursue the rest of the series and I kind of want to

I read these books in my 20s and enjoyed them so much my friend bought me the movie. I even enjoyed the series about Georgia's cousin Tahlullah who was goofy and tall as hell.

This article grabbed me and sucked me in! I was in 8th grade when the first book came out, and I remember taking it to summer camp and it being passed around the cabin because everyone wanted to know what I was snorting at during rest hour. When one of my bunkmates left it out in the rain, we painstakingly put it in

mae whitman is one of my favorite actors. she really is funny and compelling in everything i have seen her in (including the DUFF which sounds like it would be a terrible, terrible film but is actually very cute and sweet). as another member of the bi+ community, i am happy she is out and proud!

It’s as Ann as the nose on Plain’s face.

Combining race and ethnicity is just a bad approach and causes a lot of problems with the data.

I want that shirt for St Patty's day.

Hispanic/ Latino is not a race. Misleading writing on your part. Most Hispanics choose white as race, unless they are black, and a few claim indigenous.

“Kiss me, 23andMe says I’m 1% Irish”

This is me. I fit into this category. It’s weird and they keep breaking it down further. I can’t check white because I have Hispanic and Latino ancestry from my father. It definitely reads “not Hispanic.” It used to be just be “white” as a catch all. I feel weird either way. I used to put “other” on my school tests

“The White population fell from 223.6 million in 2010 to 204.3 million in 2020, a decrease of 8.6 percent,” the Post reports. Conversely, the number of respondents who identified as multicultural went up by 276% in comparison to the numbers from the 2010 census.

Well she’s still not totally free.  She is still under a conservatorship, but at least she’s not under her father’s thumb anymore.

Now, bring in the financial forensic investigators.

The WaPo article is pay-walled - are they just talking about Non-Hispanic Whites?

The fact that the author’s name is Karen really is the chef’s kiss in all of this racist mess.

I sorta agree with you and also not defending his tone deafness to it all, but I’ll essentially double down in that he like myself is an Italian American and we are mostly hugging/embracing types of families. More so when we know you. We aren’t gropers or cop a feel types and we don’t kiss random people we meet for
