Very true. How we, as a country, have treated First Nations people came up in our discussion as well. Our parents are “old stock”, and we personally welcomed the inquiry into residential schools. You don’t have healing by hiding the shameful things. Expose them and bring the shame into the light so people can’t ignore…

I’m going to show this to my 8 year old. She’s in her 5th year of rec ballet, which I started her in initially for ADHD therapy. Well now she’s in love with it and talks about when she can go pointe, and stays for hours after recital to hang with her dance peeps (most are comp and amazing role models)

Having grown up with a religious culture out of the mainstream, I can attest that every group has those that are more and less devout. And they all think they're doing it right.
