People, stop complaining that this is “too long.”

Brings back memories of when I was but a young lad, striving for greatness in Little League. I....wasn’t much of a hitter, and when it came down to our last game, with the post-season tournament on the line, I ended up at the plate with the tying run on third. Down to our last out, and me...ME!...one of the worst

This is way off base and as an engineer who is obsessed with efficiency, Disney and ABC were definitely in the wrong and deserved to pay up.

I use Bing. I use Chrome at work but set the default search engine to Bing because I like it better than Google. Set the world afire.

Pretty sure that piston engines date back further than 120 years (most Steam locomotives use something like a piston to turn the steam into power). But internal combustion engines you’re about right on. And the switch to electric cars is happening, slowly, range and recharge times are not up to par with an internal

People don’t care about maintaining their cars in general. Fluids, tires, brakes, etc get replaced when they fail and cause an accident.

Those people boggle my goddamn mind. Clearly they don’t enjoy driving to begin with, but they’re seemingly ensuring their drive is positively AWFUL by having to fight the steering wheel every inch of the trip because it is 15 degrees off center.

I can walk outside right now and see at least 3 cars with bald tires on them.

Yeah, I can see why that would ruin them for you.

I love the Probe. I had one for about 5 years. It handled surprisingly well for what it was.

Sometimes you have a really vivid dream, where you have something perfect in your possession. You wake up and feel confusion, sadness, and anger to find out it was all a dream, and that you have to go back to reality empty handed.

Today, you can wake up and see this, the most beautiful art piece of all time, a sexy ass

Has to be my 1990 240SX. It’s a hatchback with an SR20 swap and a Silvia front end: the three things that were on my S13 checklist at the time (notice how “running” is not one of those things). It was in the far north end of NJ and the first time I saw it, I drove through a literal monsoon, so bad the Turnpike was

Of course! Shipping sometimes ruins it, though.

Are you a cheap enough that you scour the pages of RockAuto first before deciding where to buy a part from?

Kansas is a lovely place.

LOL, thanks.

Resurrecting a tuner car and making a CLEAN, focused build. That’s my goal for this work in progress. So far I’ve tackled frame damage, a failed engine harness, and the interior. Still have to get a working radio, clean up under hood, and deal with some suspension gremlins.

Just on a comparative basis, you needed 36% more power at 70mph than you did at 60mph. I used a cD of .50 and frontal area of 40sqft (3.7162 m2) in Wolfram Alpha’s drag calculator for that... drag force of 835.5N at 60mph, 1137N at 70mph.

This is what I’ve harped on before. WHAT SPEEEEED? No mention before, no mention now.

I’m curious about what speed you were towing at? If you were doing 70+ I can easily see getting below 10mpg. When we town my Miata behind a Expedition with the 3V 5.4L at 63 or so we get about 12-13mpg. Upping that speed to 70 would easily drop us to about 10mpg, and that’s towing a far more aerodynamic car.
