Build it and they will come...

Not Jeep Enough...

First off, these are hands down some of my favorite stories on Jalopnik I both loathe and enjoy when I am in similar situations, for example; I painted my first car in a weekend. I needed to be back at school Monday at 8AM for class, 7 hours away. I made it, but the car was missing many many many parts.

Can someone point out the time in the video where the police drew their guns? I saw a wave from the policeman and then some conversation but I never saw a weapon drawn. The backup officer also stands with his hands on his belt the entire time never drawing a weapon.

I think it would be a fascinating Jalopnik piece if instead of restoring it to original condition you rebuild it with a goal of slaying GTI’s in autocross. I estimate that will cost approximately the same as purchasing a used GTI and putting all of the parts into your Yugo.

The NSX GT3 engine is essentially the same engine they are running in this TLX GT. So having no failures on their first time out is less impressive, they have been running the same engine in racing events since around 2015? I have to imagine that their TLX GT was used as a test bed of sorts for the development of the

Worked with a guy in Kansas that would surf CL every day at lunch. Keywords were Buick, Oldsmobile, and 3800. If something came up he would immediately reach out to see if he could get a good price and he would drive halfway across the state to pick it up.

This is what I don’t understand, isn’t it really just the “Big 2.” Unless you are counting Fiat as a domestic automaker?

All I can say is who KERS? Its a kids movie you can’t question the lack of racing rules/distinct classes.

I JUST saw this reply for some reason I was logged out. I have seen your pictures before. I was looking for pictures of lifted Allroads and yours came up in a bing image search. Awesome car man.

I literally just wrote almost the same thing. I agree! Here is hoping that, with win32 on ARM, Continuum can mature.

This is essentially what the Microsoft Continuum model is. The phone is your computer. Instead of a slot, it fits in a dock. This certainly is more powerful in that it carries a Kaby Lake chip but, in concept this is very similar.

Yeah, it has basically had every problem these cars are “known for.” Leaked water, control arms were shot, headliner is falling down, vacuum system is crumbling, CV axles are blown, engine mounts are worn out and leaking, the PO hacked the wiring to hell (not the car’s fault). The list goes on.

Got it. Thanks for the response!

I agree with you. I bought someone else’s project, a B5 Passat no less, I am unsure it will ever be completed. Never again...

Wait. Isn’t the AllRoad 2.7TT engine essentially the same as the one in the S4? What is the gain? Forgive my ignorance, I am much more familiar with the 1.8T having never had the funds for an S4.

I have an incredibly similar story. I had a 2000 Dakota 2WD that, after years of driving in the winters of Ohio where they lay the salt on thick, had developed a pretty annoying knock from the front suspension. Turns out it was a failed rubber bushing on the lower control arm. I think hey, no problem, I can fix

Hey, as someone who has dreams of visible rivets and dumb chunky seams on my econobox 1998 Passat wagon...I was considering being offended by these comments/statements.

Could you receive text messages that you got on your android phone on your MacBook or just messages you received on your iPhone? I would say that is an important distinction if the answer is no.
