I kind of thought they were going to see Paul Walker driving alongside them and then he'd smile and they'd smile and then that song would start up.

Heh. While the gender disparity here is obviously huge, I've noticed weird things with men in similar film and TV situations lately. Like, how did Jack from Lost or Rick on The Walking Dead find time to shave their chests in their respective disaster scenarios? Even if they *did* find the time…why would they?

Season 4 of Arrow will just be Felicity cry-talking the word "Oliver" from start to finish.

Well it has been open internationally for a while. There have been quite a few advance screenings. There are also, um… other means. But I have a ticket to see it again tomorrow night anyway. So. Heh.

Yeah, have to agree with this. It's still an immensely entertaining summer film, by any standard, but it suffers from too much going on. That said, Whedon's extended cut (notably the first Marvel film that is getting an extended cut) might fill in a lot of those awkward plot transitions and missing character beats.

The structure and pacing of Vikings has always been odd and I've come to just sort of accept it as a quirk of the show. Plots that seem like they're being set up for a season-long arc disappear and aren't revisited again until next season, while others are resolved faster than normally would be, etc. Their season

Post-Mirakuru I don't think they had a single scene of Oliver traning Roy. You'd think that would be kind of important, especially when he no longer has super powers.

Oh, agreed. The show mostly seemed to forget that Roy was even there, much less that Roy Harper/Arsenal/whatever-you-wanna-call-him is a major figure in the mythos. I'm mostly just bitter because they never got Colton to do the Salmon Ladder.

Does Colton Haynes have to leave every show he's on after two seasons or else he turns into a pumpkin?

Felicity was a great addition to the show who has been systematically ruined by catering to tumblr shippers. She's gone from being a smart but regular tech girl provided some much needed comic relief and a few meta-jokes at the show's expense to being a sort of Mary Sue-esque super genius who has three superheroes

I just could not get into this episode at *all.* The villain of the week was lame, I'm tired of everyone hiding everything from Iris for no reason, and I'm tired of Felicity "Ms. Whedonesque Meta-Joke Starling City 2015" Smoak showing up everywhere all the time.

Well I don't pretend to know the entire Amy Schumer oeuvre, but I've seen her show a few times and it had some much more clever and subversive material. Not that I expect a hosting gig like this to get her full effort but surely she could have done better.

The dissonance when MTV puts some of these films/actors together with teen popcorn flicks is really weird. I thought this year's show was particularly dismal. The usually great Amy Schumer relied on a lot of obvious and unfunny sex gags. The presenters were bland and it felt like there was practically nobody there

True, yeah, but if I remember correctly they only had seasons like, 18 or 19 of the back catalogue to be released. They could have at least put those out.

That's kind of ridiculous given that there were only a few seasons that hadn't yet been released. DVD market might not be what it once was but it's hardly *THAT* dead.

Well if I remember correctly there have been hints from the creators that they intend for Vikings to become a generational show that outlives Ragnar even and continues to focus on his sons, etc. That's not necessarily a bad thing so long as they characters are compelling, but… losing so many good supporting

So, I'm concerned. We've lost Athelstan and now Floki seems not long for this world. They're two of the most compelling supporting characters on the show, at the very least in terms of their performances. Who's around to pick up the slack? Bjorn? Heh.

The initial twelve episodes seemed to be all they really had in terms of a story arc. If Glee had been a 12 episode miniseries instead it would be remembered much more fondly

They should've let Kojima handle that one.

…Am I the only person who wants to talk about Doom 2099?
