Unfortunately, once again the Timeless Child stuff boils down to the Doctor having things explained to her at length, and not actually doing a damn thing. Despite being such a big deal it feels like it changes so little. So having that take up the bulk of this episode hurt it a lot, even though Yaz’s adventures were

Chopper was always credited as “Himself” during Rebels. I don’t think Filoni ever took credit for the voice in the actual episodes, except maybe for the Rebels finale.

Dave Filoni’s respect and reverence for SW is a double-edged sword. There have been plenty of times that callbacks, in-jokes or just plain recycling of ideas, storylines, dialogue and character tropes actually make his SW contributions worse when what we actually needed was something new.

Pending someone pulling the wibbly lever on this, or reversing the neutron flow or something, I am going to apply my encyclopaedic knowledge of the history of this series and my strong reasoning skills... and accept things at face value.

I honestly have no idea why anyone was expecting some big grand reveal about the Night King. I’ll say the same thing I said about Snoke: if you were okay with Return of the Jedi not having some huge reveal about Palpatine’s backstory, there’s no reason you shouldn’t be okay with this. The show never once indicated

So, I generally disagree with Emily’s take on this season, but I think her writing is great (loved the Twin Peaks reviews), and am reeeeeeeeeally fucking sick of the attitude she’s getting in these comments. First of all, art can be criticized and analyzed through any lens based on any criteria. Emily is at liberty to

I enjoyed it quite a bit. Not a great story, but a pretty damn entertaining one. Chibnall works better with classic villains. Some of the jokes fell *really* flat though. Especially the bit with the family addicted to technology. Just....no. Overall, one of the better Series 11 episodes if it were to be counted as such

Personally I think Iron Man, as the cornerstone of the MCU, would be the better choice. But it’s an impossible decision to make.  So don’t!  Do both movies!  If 2008 is the single most important year for superhero movies, it can be singled out for special treatment.

I had just texted to my friend “Grace is the perfect DW companion” before she got killed.

While The Dark Knight is the better of the two, Iron Man is by far the more influential in retrospect. Since this series of articles is about how the superhero genre became the juggernaut that it is today, Iron Man is a crucial point in the genre’s history. Everything important about the genre in The Dark Knight was

Only in internet comments is TFA a “shit” movie.
