Because for many people Star Trek isn’t about the quality of effects, or space battles, or one good man arguing for a moral position. It’s about a better future, where a better morality is the standard, not the exception. It’s utopian, not dystopian. It’s hopeful, not cynical. It’s kind, not mean.
