I think if someone was looking for their new luxury car-with-a-bed and saw that it gets 12MPG highway, they would begin to consider that buying a 60 thousand dollar truck might not be the best idea.

They are really riding on the potential success of the model 3 to bring them out of this hole. If the model 3 doesnt hit its sales target(unlikely due to preorders but possible) I would imagine Tesla might be done.

Precisely, everyone is saying it should be more like a minivan. Everyone is forgetting that minivans are uncool and half the point of buying a Tesla is that its “cool”.

I think the thing is relevance among the luxury car brands. Sure they are Americas luxury brand but almost everyone goes BMW/Merc/Audi and even lexus first.

Kind of obvious but make sure your going from North to South. Timing doesn’t matter too much IMO except not summer. It is almost always cloudy and foggy in the morning with clearer skies in the afternoon.
