More just the overall tone of it. Guy with power/control issues can be invisible, naturally he would go and rape anybody he could. It seemed to me like the movie was made with a baseline assumption of that kind of horrendous titillation. Like it was predicted to give good box office by arousing that notion in male

HOLY SHIT, the Betty/Diane stand-in outside the diner directed it? Oh my god, the plot sounds amazing. I'm up for a really good bad movie. Thanks for the rec!

There was a fucking sequel?

Well, I thought it was about how great and magical Kevin Bacon's dong is***.

Or teaching, apparently. HOLLOW MAN is about as rape-y as it gets, from what I remember?

…sexual fascism…?
It's not so much an idea I can verbalize to you, but a feeling I'm trying to convey at you.

This comment will haunt me the rest of my life.

Mmmmmm damn good joke. Gave me a partial, at least!

"I used to wish Showgirls would be shown on the midnight movie circuit like the Room, but that could lead to complicated [sticky gooey] group activities."

You *say* there are no fart cannons in the film, and yet I'm sure you're aware that Eszterhas was the screenwriter, yes?

WATCH IT AGAIN

I always heard that Kyle Maclaughlin walked out of it's premiere saying "I thought this was an art film" or something like that.

Verhoeven is absolutely right. SHOWGIRLS is basically STARSHIP TROOPERS but with skrippaz, kinda. Go back and watch it again and you'll see what I mean.

Oh definitely. He needed extensive therapy for sure. But I do think they kinda did "too good" of a job for it.

If Lars himself was also a drumming genius, the early 4-some of Metallica would've lasted for approximately 2 seconds before disintegrating.

Gotta agree. Lars has always made up for not being able to do the mad complex parts by having his drumming *actually say something*. Anybody who doubts Lars' ability should relisten to "Disposable Heroes"' and concentrate on what Lars is saying. It's fucking brilliant.

Thank you, it's an important point. I'm through with the censorious side of the leftwing at this point; I'm immune to being called a racist and sexist at this point. And I didn't vote for Trump, but simply explained a bit of empathy regarding the topic. But in my experience currently, your thoughts will be lost on

That's what I'm thinking too, I know there's a LOT going on in those first 5 episodes that I missed, shit went by so quickly because of the handheld cam. I loved how they used the multimedia approach, modularizing the season in unique ways. Other shows could take the same approach to their own structure.

God this season was so fucking satisfying, the most satisfying since ASYLUM for me. I loved that I can go back and rewatch now that I know who the real protagonist is (and obviously how blatantly, and beautifully, subverts race/gender expectations… I truly had no clue who would come out surviving by the 7th episode).
