If the point is to be regressive and try to recapture what made the last two Avengers movies so massively successful, I don’t think bringing back the Russos would be enough. A lot of what made those two films and Captain America: Civil War work despite the crazy amount of elements they had to juggle was the incredibly…

I’ve known of Gwar since like the aughts, but this is the first time I’ve watched them perform or speak. I didn’t realize they weren’t scary but more like...cartoon characters?
I said they should have first song pick, but to actually be the first performance? Tremendous.
“First non-Marvel film in over a decade” is a clickbait-ass way to say “second film”, especially when said Marvel flick was the only one since Spider-man 3, fifteen years and three movies before.
Dunno why everyone’s so keen to see Grande do it. She’s just gonna grab all Sean’s wings, lick them, and then put them back his plate.
I agree. This goes beyond FAA regulations and points at the perversity of Wall Street where long term investment, good for the country, has been replaced by short term, casino speculation, only good for the short term investor and ruinous to the long term economy. This can be moderated by taxing stock transactions…
Don’t make the mistake of thinking that Boeing is at all unique in their failures. There are numerous big engineering companies that behave the same way and are experiencing similar failures.
Boeing is too important to our national security, economy and technical supremacy to be run by the creeps that are in control now. Time to seize Boeing through eminent domain and to criminally prosecute those that are responsible for the malignant behavior that puts profits over safety.
Twilight was like those romance novels with Fabio on the cover, and then the main actors ended up actually in a relationship, so it makes sense, among the fans at least. Plus Pattinson and Stewart are gorgeous, and we love gorgeous people.
I will say they are good riffing fodder though, because they are so silly. Especially the insane “It was all in your mind” fight where a vampire gets his head ripped off.
I never quite got why it HAD to be linked to the Skywalkers anyway (other than Luke as failed master to Ben and redemption master to Rey... which would have made for a better story focus). There were Jedi for millennia before Anakin - so a bunch of “nobody” children with the ability to wield the force is just part of…
The problem was the writing. Not Daisy, not Adam, not Oscar, etc. The people who are supposed to know such things in fact didn’t know what story they wanted to tell or what story they were actually telling. The attempt to “correct course” from TLJ produced a ridiculous - and boring - final act. There really just ended…
Can we at least agree that for any perceived problems with the sequels, the human being known as Daisy Ridley isn’t one of them.
Wow, that sucks. I loved him in everything I saw him in, but he’ll always be Pembleton to me. In a show filled with incredible performances he still stood out and even elevated those around him. Pembleton in the box was truly something to behold.
I think Disney+ played a role in the box office failure, in that this was their first attempt to use the streaming shows to launch a movie. WandaVision and Ms. Marvel were required viewing to have any interest here, in a way that wasn’t true of past experiments like using the kids from WandaVision as a plot point in…
It’s a much better movie than a lot of the post-Endgame stuff. I think the biggest issue is that people paying for Disney+ no longer feel like paying even more to see every MCU film a couple months earlier. There’s no sense of urgency to justify that extra expense now.
Haven’t the reviews been pretty positive? Meaning, this is more of a marketing failure, or a failure of overall studio strategy, rather than a lack of quality in the film?
Oof. Am I glad to have stopped working for Gamestop ages ago. I also no longer shop there. I feel bad for the employees. They’re the ones doing all the work and dealing with all the bull. As a company, Gamestop needs to die. They've been steadily enshittifying every aspect of their business for years now. I'll miss…
