I think part of the high number of PS2 sales is that the price actually went down as time went on. When the PS2 slim came out for years after launch, a PS2 cost half as much as a launch unit did.

I think the main takeaway for me is that Microsoft probably needs to take Fallout off of Bethesda’s hands and let another developer with a less packed schedule take it over. With ES6 being forecast for 2026 and the next Xbox forecast for 2028, Fallout will be missing an entire console generation.

I remember when the cost of admission to console multiplayer was a network adapter that you plugged into your PS2.

I got the notification that PS+ Essential was going up to $80 on the next renewal and I just cancelled it. There haven’t been many (if any) good free games on the essential tier in ages. The only multiplayer I’ve used since I bought the PS5 was a couple of summons for tricky Elden Ring bosses, but I think I can get by…

Have they updated the car physics at all? At least a couple months after launch, the cars felt like shit to drive with huge braking distances, slippery physics and a minimap that doesn’t zoom out far enough to allow you to prepare for the slipperiness or the braking.

One fun little wrinkle is their definition of Install when it comes to game streaming.
