I like cars, all kinds of cars. I don’t understand how Honda Civics run with Bentleys and Audis and Mercedes and VWs...
I may have voted differently if it was $5K, but for nearly $14K, no way. These are great cars, but nothing last forever, and the title concerns me.
I see so many people having quality problems with VWs. We swapped a Jetta for a Tiguron AWD in 2013, and other than brake pads, oil changes, wiper blades and snow tires, it’s been a great, uh, is that a crossover? It seems like a wagon to me. Little 4 cyl turbo.
Well done piece on Ms Mercer, thanks so much. Always wished I could work at a news media outlet that would use a headline about “Shitty Person Is Full Of Shit” like this. Thank D-G for the innertubes allowing such a thing!
We have good friends who now live next door to us. They used to have a farm near us here in WV where the actual road, maintained (a little bit) by the state road dept ran in and out of the creek. In places you had to drive a hundred yards up or down the creek.
Oooh !!! Yuck... where is this? Strikingly ugly stream!
What, no one actually read the story before posting a (stupid) comment? Nearly everyone is assuming she “left her car running” when the story specifically says she remote started it while checking out of the store, because it was COLD outside. I would guess she thought she had left it locked when she went into the…
Guy, I don’t know how you count wheels, but I count Five on there, NOT Three. Try again?!!!
We bought a slightly used C300 sport model, 8,000 miles on it, with an extended Benz warranty, which just ran out. The only big thing was the engine wiring harness died, there’s a big joint in it that broke. They had to remove everything, alternator, A/C, injector pump, the car was in the bay for 3 days. No charge.…
Tony Romo is the best football announcer on TV, bar none, ever. Knows the game, can describe what’s going on, doesn’t get confused about when a receiver becomes a runner.
The garbage truck incident, I don’t know yet how much of that was Amtrak’s fault. CSX owns that track IIRC, and maintains the crossing gates. We don’t even know for sure whether the gate was down or not, which would have been CSX’s fault, or whoever owns that track if not CSX. If the gate was down and the truck…
The day I buy an expensive car without driving it home and back, well, never gonna happen. Never!
Actually, the “$” issue is mostly only in front in America, most of the world puts the currency indicator in the back, or following the actual number.
I don’t know about back in the 1970s, but the Obama era bail out of GM and Chrysler both ended up without the taxpayers paying for those bailouts.
thinktank: I enlisted in the U S Navy in 1970 at the point of a gun. Not literally, of course. Literally at the certainty of going to jail if I didn’t enlist in some military unit. The Coast Guard wouldn’t take me for my poor vision, but the Army and Marines were perfectly willing to force me to enter boot camp or go…
The BBC, while very professional and informing, is still an arm of the British government. You can’t expect them to be neutral towards an election that has a good chance of breaking the United Kingdom into separate parts, as it was before the English conquered the Scots.
My late great-uncle loved him some Lincoln. The ones I remember were the suicide doors.
We’re going to be in LA for the first time ever. I looked up where Los Lobos will be performing while we’re in LA, as they’re a great LA Latin band we’ve seen before on tour.
No dude. Not the Boomers... it was the Republicans. Anything for a profit, the more obscene the better. Bush and the Republicans. C-130s filled with pallets of $100 bills in shrink wrap, with no accounting.
