August 2008 I was preparing to retire (early, too) and bought a slightly used (20K miles) 2008 F-350 Lariat trim truck. Forest green, short back seat, regular bed. Tan leather interior. A dream to drive on the open road or up a creek.

But what will it be like in 8 years?

I graduated with a BS CS at 34, and my dad took me to buy a nice interview suit for my graduation gift, so upper 3 figures. After college I stopped playing racketball every other day, and started sitting still 8.5 hours a day, gained some weight, and burst the seat out of the Italian wool pants after about 6 months.

I was in the USN almost 50 years ago. Top speed on navy warcraft is classified. My ship (demolished/scrapped 20 years ago or more) maxed out in the teens. Max depth of subs is classified. I hear that the nuke carriers (around which I never served, not even the base port) can plane like a speed boat, which no one will

My dad was NOT a gear-head, but he loved good cars. When I was a little kid he was a Studebaker guy. When I was in high school, he had a brand new ‘64 Studebaker convertible, red with a white top, and a 289. It would eat a GTO of the same era for lunch. Then he bought a Ford Torino RT, black with gold stripes, wide

WVU busted VW and Audi, and that bust stuck tight. I see no reason the busted on Fiat-Chrysler won’t stick just as well. Also, I agree with deezler - if they can’t design a compliant diesel engine, they shouldn’t be selling a diesel engine. “Period!”

OK, two year later but here goes. I have seen film of General Charles Yeager (yes, that Chuck Yeager!) flying his fighter under the bridges over the Kanwha River in Charleston, WV, the nearest city to his tiny home town in rural Lincoln county. This was obviously a long time ago, but still. Under the bridges.

A wonderful comparison, thanks!

In West Virginia they passed a law requiring that all students stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance. There was a series of court cases, culminating in a US Supreme Court decision that upended that requirement for everyone. No one may be forced to recite the Pledge of Allegiance under any circumstances in this

My folks were fortunate, they had 2 sets of grandparents of their kids, and my mom’s mom had a tiny farm nearby, which we boys loved spending weekends at, once we were old enough not to freak out being away from parents.

My wife became a little incontinent, had some pain during intercourse, Dr prescribed Premarin creme, she spent like $100 on the first batch, never opened it. Side effects he told her about while writing the script were scary! (and they were!) We’ve been seeing the same Family Practice Dr, also board certified

We bought a 2011 C300 Sport in 2012, with 8,000 miles on it, from the dealer. The warranty runs out next November, and we still only have about 26,000 on the car. We had been driving the car for about 6 months, just home from a beach trip to Delaware, and one morning it started hard and ran very rough.

A shame that any random bigot can stimulate the whole security apparatus into action against innocent travelers with a single sentence to someone associated with authority. Here’s hoping the family gets a large civil settlement capable of putting all their relations through Ivy League level schools! And I’m meaning

You can tell she is full of hate just by looking at her tiny piggish eyes. Anyone who in this 21st century doesn’t understand the history of slavery and the Confederacy is deliberately ignorant.

When my wife rolled out F-350 truck on I-25 in New Mexico, our dogs were in the back seat, just lying on their dog bed. We did one complete 360 roll to the right side. The dogs were still in the back after we came to rest on the wheels, after quite a bit of swerving in the median. The right rear tire lost its bead and

All states have Insurance Commissioners, or someone filling a similar function. They may not call it that in FLA, and it may not be a very strong regulatory office in FLA, but they have one for sure.

Be just SO glad you were stopped where your car and home are:

Hartsfield, for 36 hours...

My nephew is pre-enlisted in the Navy weeks away from graduating from U with dual majors, physics and math. He wants to be a nuke. His dad is vicariously living the military life, having never met a lifer he didn’t like.
