I don’t see too much on how HotS has influenced Dota 2 here, but the new UI has a lot of inspiration from HotS’s UI(probably). The games aren’t exactly nerfed to be shorter, I’m not sure if they are as the new patch is still being checked out, TI5 will show what the changes mean. However, if someone is looking for

Nice

You mute players specifically in Dota, so if you don’t like what someone is saying your account can mute their account. Everyone else can still hear them. If someone gets reported enough then they can’t play games in anything other than low-priority matchmaking for a while. Not saying its the best but its a bit more

Dota 2 only has surrender possible in tournament games and in private lobbies. It’s the worst thing ever when people want to give up.

The enemy had been winning most skirmishes in Dragon Shrine, they had taken every Dragon Knight too. I was Li Li, so I couldn’t do much in the way of actual fighting. They pushed to our base but we were able to defend them at the last moment. If we would have surrendered I never would have been able to take Dragon

Blue, green and red? Those are stats.

I almost missed this bite sized article looking on Kotaku. It’s only three sentances because the last two are a link and a two word imperative. It’s not like Source 2 just got released in beta or anything. I feel the article about LoL vs. Dota 2 has more about Dota than this one does...

Press spacebar twice, there isn’t a camera lock for some reason.

Techies Demolitions.

You can use mods to skin Dota 2 heroes as some HotS heroes:

In Dota 2, Weaver has a similar time backwards ultimate. The manacost scales with the level of the ult. The first level costs 150 mana, the second level of the skill costs 75, and at max level it costs 0 mana.

All of the objective based combat leads to several minigames being present in each map. That being said I like controlling the Dragon Knight the most. Haunted Mines is good too, I dislike the Bay the most.

It’s androids.

I am close to fighting the Kayren, and I haven’t even considered buying 3 yet. I think 3 is awesome and I like watching a playthrough of it but at the rate I’m inching through 2 it may be a bit before I get to 3. I couldn’t make it past the tutorial in 1...

After getting to HotS level 10 my feelings are confirmed that having to unlock characters with real money or hours and hours and hours of playtime is junk. I may play HotS with my Blizzard friends or if I have like an extra 20 minutes to waste. I was kind of dissapointed when I spent my first 2000 gold to get ETC,

While the dog is an homage to Mad Max, the name Dogmeat is from the 1975 movie “A Boy and His Dog”

Now playing

For good measure, here it is in 1000 FPS slow-mo glory:

Unless you want Mid/Safe/Jungle/Off/Roam, even then it doesn’t work all the time.

I barely see this working for dota, roles are too mutable and depending on heroes picked your plans could change dramatically a few minutes into the game. There could be an additional mode made for this but it wouldn’t end up in All Pick, Ranked, etc.

I don’t think its impossible to balance both groups, every Dota 2 patch usually contains Pro-level changes and pub-level changes. Heroes are completely reworked if they aren’t viable in both levels. There are definitely certain heroes that do well in lower skill(Pudges and Snipers) and heroes that don’t do well in
