Yeah, it is just weird to see a bunch of hacky pop culture sites have reviews up before AVClub. But like you say, it is not exactly a high priority.

Yeah a couple of eps of that second snake guy and I just stopped watching. Such a waste.

Have you even heard your poetry?! "Those who live in glass houses…"

I was wondering where the AVClub review for this movie was. Now I'm actually surprised to see it. Always keep 'em guessing!

I find it very difficult to watch Silicon Valley (it's too real, it just stresses me out) so especially when I worked at Twitter people would harangue me with quotes from the show and I'd just be standing there stupefied. Plus the character's name is "Erlich," that didn't sound like anything to me having not watched

TJ Miller, and I work in tech. :(

Oohhhh yeeeaaaaahhhh that's right, thanks!

Yeah, I remember him having died last year. If it wasn't him, then who…?

No, but the Logan timeline is vaguely similar to the Old Man Logan series (Brian Michael Bendis) in the sense that most mutants are gone. Otherwise, I was very happy to see the film borrowed almost nothing from that not-great miniseries.

Yeah, the chain reaction of universes dying set off by Marvel characters' constant time travelling is actually what killed you. Or the Beyonders did? It's not too clear.

No shots of Gendry rowing. >:(

Curse you internet person! I just lost the entire morning thanks to Oglaf. It is pretty damn amazing.

The twist is, this movie is actually an elaborate trailer for Aquaman.

Plus the vaguely racist choices on the animal caricatures. Hugely disappointing trailer for all of these reasons.

I am very close to doing this myself. Building computers is one of those rituals that serves as a major procrastination and anxiety sink for me. Combines the joy of consumption with the satisfaction of making something cool.

Great coverage! I am looking forward to many of these films now. Safe travels.

Ellis is credited as "contributing writer" to the series on IMDB. He has talked about it in his newsletter as well.

This "blog" format is pretty weird… is there a stats reason for doing it this way? Seems like it would actually lower impressions when half of your ads are way below the fold.

What might be as interesting would be to do a comparison of the differences of all of the various "Harry Potter" copyright-violating re-skins from around the world. You might learn a lot about how different cultures approach fantasy from reading in the margins of those differences.

Short answer, it was tone-deaf. I just recently saw a supercut of basically every appearance he ever made on Conan, and for the first time saw that the Andy-is-not-gay thing was a continuously running gag on the show, pretty much featured in some way in every appearance. In isolation some of this stuff can be pretty
