Say what you want about Apple, but they are in a league of their own in terms of supporting their devices for long periods of time. If you care about sustainability, remember the adage that the greenest solution is the one you can use and reuse for a long time.

Just making it as far as they did is a hell of an accomplishment, and I really really really hope they get to try again someday.

Me too.... at the last few seconds it seemed to me it was coming too fast. (25 km/h at 200 meters)... and then nothing... except a blip of 3 km/h @ 2 meters.

That really sucks. Space is hard, and landing anything more than doubly so.
