That was after the initial rush when they sold for over list and people waited months for them. Anyone who thinks they should be removed from automotive history knows nothing of automobiles - or history.

I owned a LeBaron “super k” that was well past it’s best before date and other than being rusted out when I got it and needing an engine rebuild - and paying WAY TOO MUCH for it, after I rebuilt the engine it gave excellent service for quite a few years before the underbody got too soft to be safe - it was excellent…
What car from 1973 did NOT rust away in salt country???? The VW rabbit rusted away before your eyes. So did the Toyotas, Datsuns, and Mazdas. The BMW and Mercedes were not immune to the rustworm either - and Chevy J-cars and X cars virtually all had “factory air conditioning” by the time they were 3 or 4 years old.
How many Vegas and Chevettes did GM sell? Or Cavaliers or even Citations? Not to mention the later J-200 and Sunbird and their clones? All objectively WORSE cars than the K car. and how many Ford LTD2 - or the Escort / lynx - or Tempo/topaz? Certainly no better than Chrysler’s K cars
Gotta strongly disagree. They were better cars than any of GM’s competition in the class and in many ways better than their Aspen / Volare’ ancestors. Also better than the Ford offerings at the time (granada /ltd2/etc).
In the AeroScares behind the 3.0 they either failed in under 60000 km or they lasted over 200000 - from my experience with ‘89 and ‘90. I lost a front pump seal on one, and an accumulator “O” ring seal on the other - both went to 24000km before the rust worm pretty much took them off the road.
Just take a sawzall to an early Acty pickup and you have pretty much the old Vamos
What does it cost to rent a car for 6 months???
Don’t know about in the USA but here in Ontario Canada you get a clear title if the previous registered owner had a clear title
There was a link but it’s old news - 404 error -
Title is clear when you buy from a storage lien auction and with clear title and VIN new keys can be ordered from the selling dealer.
In 03 the Taurus SES got the24 valve Duratec - Also available as an option on the SE - rather than the pedestrian pushrod Essex. A pretty serious performance upgrade
Where, in Arizona??
Also available without the Z71 package
A friend bought a new GM pickup and the dealer asked him what badges and decals he wanted on it - - - -
If it was anything like the R12 it would outhandle a GTI - and ride a LOT more comfortably at the same time
Actually it had sequential injection on the V6 - which was NOT available on the standard Celebrity - “euro” headlights, and IIRC the suspension tuning was stiffer - less boat-like than the standard Celebrity. ( and it WAS - a celebrity - - -
AND the transmission is (a cvt) programmed to be a mult-speed automatic instead of a rubber band - a BIG improvement for most people
The RS package was available on the Z28 - or an an SS. It was a trim package with hideaway headlights
You are making a lot of assumptions. What makes you think it’s not being driven even now?? Or that it has ever sat for an extended time? It might have been driven a few miles every couple months - need to see the service records to know - it COULD be one of the best 3 series converts around - - - and may have had…
