Good article. I can say from personal experience she is good at getting police reports. Without giving up my agency, Diana called one night regarding a famous athlete who had been arrested. She told me her name and that she worked for Deadspin. I thought, “Holy shit, I read your stuff all the time!” She was

Thanks for the insight Diana, although you should brace for the critics who’ll say that you shouldn’t have written this article, since they contribute to “outrage fatigue”. We should only cover the ‘real’ incidents, the bad ones that haven’t been resolved, they’ll chide.

“Also I knew how to get police reports. I was really good at getting police reports.”

Just want to say thank you for all your work, especially your incredible investigative pieces year after year. Deadspin is a great place for dick jokes and making fun of Austin Rivers, but for me, no author’s byline here commands as much attention as yours.

This is weird, but: I kind of think that, by shutting down the possibility that The Force Awakens’s plotlines would lead to a trilogy-long rehashing of the entire original trilogy, and spinning off in surprising and new directions with the characters and their adventures, The Last Jedi retroactively made The Force

To me the bigger deviation there was the movie treating space as space. For the most part the Star Wars movies tend to treat space as the sky, or as the ocean—battles arrange themselves along horizontal planes, like naval engagements, and the fighter jets are, well, fighter jets. Being reminded in the middle of a Star

Leia surviving in the cold vacuum of space without anything more than novice training in the Force versus Qui-Gon and Obi Wan needing scuba gear for a five minute swim to the Gungan city.

That would be like 9:20 AM in Melbourne, so she could conceivably do it remotely over video, yeah?

It would be so badass if during the changeover Serena pulled her baby out of her racket bag and nursed it.

Or could it be that the NFL treats black players and white frat bros differently? Also have you considered switching to State Farm insurance?

“...and he did it because of how he cares about minorities and their causes...”

I respect Earl, but I feel like this is a bad move on his part. You don’t criticize a teammate for trying to gut it out through an injury, if anything it was an error by the coaching staff to not see he was hurting the team and needed to be pulled. It’s not a player’s job to determine if his backup could play better

I know it’s been played out forever but crying Jordan still gets me

Hawks fan. This was due. Please revel in our tears. It’s been a fun last six years.

It’s not so much what happened afterward as that there was a chance for something to happen afterward:

Fake noose!

I just thought Payton had swallowed too many Vicodins and needed the Heimlich.
