This is something I have always known. Fortunately, I don't actually try. But I cannot un-care.

Did you just use a pic of Kurt Cobain as an example of something WRONG? I still aspire to look as effortlessly cool. Dude gave no fucks, was beautiful, and looked amazing, just sort of accidentally.
Hell yes to Ree Dolly. What a role. What a character. She doesn't have to wear leather pants or high heels or anything. She is just magnificently tough and stubborn and fierce.
You have a valid point.
Yep. I just had to say upthread - I had a mental blip. I keep forgetting Lyanna is Eddard's sister. My pitiful defense is that my toddler has decided to forswear sleep, and it's really messing with my brains.
Oh duh. I keep forgetting Lyanna is a Stark. Really, I am not on my game. I have a 3 y.o. who has decided sleeping isn't for him. It's playing merry hell on my "little grey cells."
I don't believe the prevailing theory. I am totally an adherent of that other, non-Stark theory. I LOVE the idea of Bran warging the dragon, though. I like the cut of your jib, Hmmmm2!
Oh! I totally forgot that. If that turns out to be the case, then I am wiping Bran off my potential dragon riders slate, and I am pretty sure I know who to back now.
He's been warging for a while now. That's just disappointing. It's been a while since I read the books, so I really don't have a good support for my Bran as dragon rider idea. I think Jon Snow makes more sense, if we can only have one Stark, but then he's not likely a Stark.
But, but, but...the tree dude tells Bran he's going to fly. I have taken that to mean he may be one of the dragon riders. You think he's a contender?
I have a friend whose mama is Mormon and a little nutty (in a Southern Belle in the attic sort of way). She told me her mom cuts her garments at the sleeve and bodice to make them more revealing. Cracks me up, since it must be against regs.
I am glad to see so many rockin' women of all ages on this site. Sometimes it's easy to forget that it's not all the young chickens in the yard, because they have the largest presence here. At any rate, more variety and more diversity of voice can only be good. I am glad you have the fire in you. I do too.
Really interesting. Thank you.
Wow. When did this start? What was the cartoon? I need more info. I am absolutely in favor of this. I have a friend who dreams of of Disney re-releasing The Song of the South on DVD, complete with a thoughtful disclaimer (if that is the correct word) like this, an introduction from Henry Louis Gates, or another…
I grew up in the same general area and, while they certainly grow some fine football players in those parts, you can't say much for public school education. I am still stunned when I hear other people talk about all the STUFF they had at school (textbooks! drama classes! chess clubs!). It seems so heady.
I do end up with a suitcase full of cosmetics for friends over here.
I didn't even know about it. Now I am practically losing sleep.
I should prepare you, it's really really a product of its time. Very 70s music, very little dialogue. But for its time, the strained relations with the native people is nuanced, and the scenery is flat-out stunning. And Robert Redford as a mountain man? Yep.
Awww, I forgot about Hortense and now I really miss her.
I loved the Irish coffee, the French one and the Suisse Mocha. It was my gateway drug to my current 3-4 cups a day habit.
