Ooh, this is gonna be ....

Dame Judi Dench is the queen of them. Kiera can be the princess or something.

No. The problem DID exist, you just didn’t hear about it. You have never talked to all the trans* folks who got harassed and beat up and abused when they tried to use the bathroom. You’ve never had to help a friend find a safe space in a conservative neighborhood when he suddenly needed a toilet ‘cause he ate a street

Welcome—but please ignore Dawkins, Harris, Maher, and any other person who perpetuates hate as “atheism.”

I meant that sincerely.

Yes, I ignore that part, because I don’t believe in gods.

I think most of the people here yammering so self-assuredly about the morality of justice vs. vengeance have never lost a loved one to murder or encountered a mass murderer. Once this type of violence has touched you first hand, all comfortable theoretical certainties are lost.

At least the common problems with death penalties, like concern over potential innocence, is pretty much eliminated.

The United States, unfortunately, is just a very rich third world nation.

I am ok with the death penalty in cases where the perpetrator maliciously, deliberately, and of sound mind takes the life or lives of others and can be proven beyond any shadow of a doubt, not just reasonable doubt.

I can’t blame them, I’m sure I’d feel exactly the same way.

That is so awesome and I instantly love him, and this is why. My daughter is in seventh grade and a boy looked at her one day when they were talking about comics and laughed saying girls can't be Captains. She was shocked and told him captain was a rank, and had nothing to do with being a boy, which baffled him. So

Be my dad?

Woah woah woah, is this all at the same company? You wore Banana Republic and Theory and were blocked from a promotion because those clothes were too sexy? Pants suits are too sexy?

What utter bullshit. I am so sorry that happened to you. Vent all you want.

I think what constitutes “professional” is highly dependent upon the industry you’re in. Lawyers, bankers, finance folks, much traditional “business” workplaces — those are suits or half-suits (aka: suit pants/skirts and blouses for women, or suits pants and shirts but no jackets for men) or go home, period. For most

can I both hate and love that this exists? :)

I don’t think she’ll do a good job or is center left, but she is a helluva lot better than the alternative. That’s how shitty our choices are this year. I wish we could go back to not pandering to the lowest common denominator.

What you would call ‘challenging’ in a woman, you’d surely call at least borderline ‘abusive’ in a man. My rule; people who are ‘challenging’ should accept an equally challenging partner. This is not what I’ve read out of this. She’s been looking for a human Piñata who will simply absorb anything she levels at him.
