Take the iPhone 6S for example. The 16GB is $650, 64GB model is $750 (+$100), and the 128GB model is $850 (+$100 again).

And each 256GB memory chip will [probably] cost about $20 to put in a phone, which means the cell manufacturers will still sell 32GB, 128GB, and 256GB models with a $100+ price gap between each tier. The only difference between each will be a memory controller that ignores up to 224GB of unused space.
