The iPhone was just a more polished version of existing technologies. The first example that springs to mind is the Palm Treo. When the iPhone was released, it didn’t even have an App store.

I came away super disappointed and I thought I was the only one.

I won’t be buying one anytime soon, but this product has me as excited as the iPhone. Not everyone will agree, and that’s fine. But it seems like a real step towards something different.
