And here I thought (at the time) that my parents were freaks because they were doing it on top of the covers. 69 would have sent me into a catatonic state for the rest of my life.

The “boy” comment is just breathtaking in its utter tactlessness. Of course he didn’t call Biden, a white man from a middle-class Delaware family, “boy.”

There are a multitude of GOP senators that weren’t openly racist that Biden worked with that he could have chosen to illustrate his ability to work with and he chose the worst possible examples.

Except you can’t work with these Republicans, and to believe you can is a dangerous fucking delusion that you and Joe Biden seem to share.

Sometimes you have to work with terrible people to get basic things done. The fucking children who forget this do so at their peril. And ours.

“we must be civil with racists" is going to turn out the vote so much

Fuck civility.

The best thing anout these freshman Democrats is that they don’t back down when the Republicans attack them. Republicans are used to attacking the Dems and having the Dems almost reflexively say “Sorry, I didn’t mean to offend you please forgive me!"

Thanks, that’s why I said “for a politician”

I dislike him for the same reason I dislike Beto O’Rourke. He’s just some dude with no qualifications, no notable successes, and no big policy idea, just like, I’m young white and goodlooking for a politician, I could be president, right?

I walked in on my grandparents once. Death would have been too nice of a gift in that moment. Especially since it was the middle of the afternoon and everything was brightly lit in the afternoon sun.

Growing up we lived in a very old house with very thin walls. I used to be able to hear my parents going at it from the other side of the house and vaguely wondered how bad it was for my sister, who shared a WALL with them. Years and years later this came up in conversation and my mother was horrified to hear that I

My parents fixed up a bedroom for me in our basement as a gift for my 16th birthday. It was really very nice except that it was located directly beneath their bedroom. Directly beneath their bed. Their bed was directly above my head. Only the floor separating us. Oh, sweet jesus...

And actually, what I think is more dangerous about Biden than his history of grabbiness, mishandling of the Thomas nomination, etc., is that he’s a centrist who just wants everyone to get along at a time when the Democratic party desperately needs someone who will lead it back toward progressive values.

Thanks for the laugh.  I totally forgot that he’s too stupid to drink out of a bottle.

I agree. I think people see Biden as “tough” or “hard-nosed” enough to stand up to Trump. Biden reminds me of a used car salesman who only goes to church on Sunday to schmooze potential clients.

Honestly, I think people are panicking.

I can’t help wondering why Biden’s palpable creep factor isn’t reflected in the polls. Do we just not care about that stuff? Or are polls just completely worthless anymore? (They didn’t do us much good in 2016 either.)
