I get that it’s super hard to write a smart joke about something that needs to be taken seriously and “punch up” especially in such a short amount from when the story broke to taping (an hour, two tops?), but come one you need to say SOMETHING even if it isn’t a joke. Especially when you spend so much airtime…

TRUTH there’s been plenty of 4th amendment lawsuits that deal with these types of illegal searches and they keep cropping up—one old case was where they strip searched a high schooler because she gave someone ADVIL—she eventually went on to win a 4th amendment violation suit, but um, still wtf.
