This actually is pretty great, and they all seem fun. As voice actors have become more “famous,” it’s cool that they’ve gotten the chance to show their real personalities and actually engage with fans.

True, I always forget about TF2. But I don’t think it had even close to the level of success that Overwatch has. Maybe that’s a product of Overwatch having the power of Blizzard behind it, but Overwatch seems like the case study in not needing to rely on the standard FPS formula in order to produce a mega hit.

Damn, that’s a shame. I generally like fantasy a lot more than sci-fi too, but Mass Effect is the type of sci-fi I can stomach, and the characters are excellent. It’s funny, I think Dragon Age: Origins is probably the best game BioWare has made in recent memory, but the Mass Effect series as a whole is better than

I agree. I haven’t played FFXIV in a while, but I do remember there being an unusually high number of female players back when I was active. In the guild I was active in, I think it was pretty close to a 50/50 gender split, and three of the four most active members were women.

I’m definitely interested to see how developers try to diversify their player base. Some will rely solely on gender stereotypes and just toss in some random content because they think that one thing will appeal to women.

Others will realize that a top-down re-thinking of how they develop games and appeal to users is

I called it “bullshit,” not pure “shit.” A subtle but important difference. The game itself may be just fine, but I consider slapping different skins on the same game to try to appeal to different fanbases to be bullshit and I don’t support the practice.

What reports are these? All the ones I saw said you would have to buy the game in order to play it after the month it was made available for free. So regardless of whether you continue your subscription or not, you would only have free access to particular games for one month. Then after that you couldn’t access the

To me, yes. I think it’s a terrible standard of just slapping other skins and names on the same basic game in order to try to get other people to buy the same product. I think it’s lazy, lacks creativity and is completely different from the actual Fire Emblem franchise. You’re welcome to have the opposite opinion.

Not at launch. It’ll be free at launch and then become subscription-based this fall. They’ve already said that much, though to my knowledge they haven’t said how much it’ll cost. All we know is that you get one classic NES/SNES game per month with the service, but you have to buy the game if you want to play it after

Honest question to the Kotaku community: Are you more excited about the Switch or the next 10 weeks of game releases on other systems (Gravity Rush 2, Kingdom Hearts 2.8, Resident Evil, Tales of Berseria, Yakuza, Nioh, For Honor, Halo Wars 2, Horizon, Torment, Nier, Mass Effect, Persona 5)?

Because to me, that’s a

Man, I really, REALLY wanted to like the Switch. I’ve wanted a hybrid console/handheld for years, basically since becoming an adult and having less time to devote to gaming. I wanted so badly to be excited by the Switch, but Nintendo has done their best to destroy that. Pretty much everything surrounding the Switch

Yeah, we’ve gotten more info since this article was published and since my comment. It definitely just seems like a remake from scratch, with pretty much everything intact and just updated with modern graphics. Which is cool.

Sure, there are elements that make a collaboration make sense. But I don’t consider “Fire Emblem Warriors” to be a Fire Emblem game. I consider it Dynasty Warriors in a Fire Emblem skin, and I have zero interest in it. They play completely differently, and I have no interest in the Dynasty Warriors gameplay. Fire

There was no video when this article was originally published. Just a couple sentences and a photo.

Hmmm ... I’m interested to see in what ways it’s “inspired by” a 25-year-old game. But either way, I always like getting more Fire Emblem games (that are actually Fire Emblem games, not that Dynasty Warriors bullshit that’s coming to the Switch).

Personally, I think the reason why it “works” is that it’s just for a few minutes at a time. Building an entire 30-minute show around it is a risky endeavor, mainly because it will call attention to recycled jokes and/or themes. If they wanted to make “Clueless Gamer” into a series, it would work significantly better

But ... Titanic did suck.

I appreciate that Blizzard has seasonal skins and such, and I appreciate that they want to use them to make more money off people who feel they need to spend real money to try to get them.

Now that FFXV is out, is there an expectation that will get some FFVII Remake news/videos/whatever before the end of the year?
