I really don’t get why horror movies turn into franchises so quickly.  I never thought any of these killers had the staying power to sustain more then a film or two.   I much rather anthology horror because horror is more fun when it mixes things up, which is why its a shame that Halloween as an Anthology series never

Yeah, it’s fine. It’s absolutely fine for Fraser to play the role. It would not be great if, say, the role were some kind of Shallow Hal gambit, which this does not appear to be.

Now playing

As a fat person, I want to know who are all these people who are trying to turn being fat into some kind of protected marginalized class like it was a race. I’m not one to dismiss getting fat as merely a moral or personal failing, but I also do not give a shit about fat jokes, fat suits, fat humor, or fat whatever.

The medical profession’s obsession with BMI

Did Farley even top 300? People would still be complaining about him being cast

That’s all fair, but none of this is about people who just have a tummy. We’re well past any sort of grey area here.

That was Darlene Cates. The producers saw her on a Sally Jesse Raphael episode called Too Heavy Too Leave the House and approached her for the role. At that time she said she was approaching 500 lbs. She was literally bedridden and couldn’t move without assistance (she went on to lose a lot weight after the film)

Exactly. Minimum working hours for the vast majority of film/TV production are 10 hours/day, and often much longer. I’ve personally had days in the 16-18 hour range more than I can remember. It’s a grueling job no matter what shape you’re in and casting a lead actor of that size seems honestly irresponsible and

11 of the people involved in My 600 lb Life have already died. It’s simply not feasible for someone of that weight to be able to deal with rigors of a daily shooting schedule as the lead

You’re joking right? There are no 600 lb actors. This is what 600 lbs looks like:

Someone that size would have extreme difficulty getting to and from the set, going through makeup and wardrobe, and spending weeks of long days under hot lights.

Someone who is 600 lb can physically do very, very little. That kind of extra body mass makes doing the minimum basic activities of daily living extremely difficult, much less meeting the demanding schedule required of an actor.

She is correct that this film can give people the impression that all obese people are miserable but this was a play based on an obese man’s personal experience. We need to be able to tell all the stories, and this is one of them.

I mean he’s not wrong. There are no 600 lb actors with any kind of profile that the public even knows, even if there are any at ALL, and he is also right that physically they would not have been able to handle the role, look at 600 lbs your not going to be able to go 8 or 9 hours under lights in makeup doing whatever

There are no 600 pound actors with any kind of profile in the industry, and like he said, the issues with casting someone who actually weighed 600 pounds would be prohibitive. Aranofsky also has to make his investor’s money back, therefore you need a known name to put on the poster. I don’t have a problem with them

Wait.... Holy shit... That would be an AWESOME subplot! Madisynn hires Jen Walters to negotiate out of the contract she signed

For some reason, the exodus of commenters has left us with a high percentage of grumpy middle-aged dads doing their best Abe Simpson cosplay. It is what it is.

Um, that “talent manager played by Rainn Wilson constantly sports a red bow tie and top hat”, is Dr. Demento. How could you not know that?

Given how this guys thinks I am 100% that what comes out of this is a bunch of DC movies that feel like Marvel clones. One liners and quips all day.
