“but they need to start talking about solutions that get at the root of the problem if they want to help women in other industries”

Making it part of the conversation might help normalize it, and inspire women to start speaking up for themselves in whichever industry or career they happen to be in.

I disagree with equating actresses pushing for equal pay as a step that will help working women get equal pay. But, actresses speaking up addresses the misogynistic culture of the entertainment industry. That is a real problem that needs to be addressed.

Trevor Noah didn’t tell her how to react. He was floored, and I was too, that she confronted him with all of his hateful tweets and let the whole thing go with an “did I do that? Oh, excuse me,” then moved on like it never happened.

I don’t know if the “#ad” part was required, but assuming it was, it was revealed either way. Could it possibly be that he’s being a smartass - taking their money and literally copy/pasting what they asked him to, to embarrass them? I doubt it, but if so, it’s more respectable than most!

Only white people have ever called me nigger. You don’t see me preempetively sucker punching white people at paties or on campus

We age super well. There’s that. Oh, and we’re like, naturally cool and creative, as evidenced by most of American culture being based off of stuff we make up. Every type of American music style, for instance.

There are already laws against sexual predation and voyeurism. If a sexual predator doesn’t care about those laws, why would they care about bathroom laws?

I’ll say it again - nothing is stopping me to say “hey I consider myself a woman” and go and be creepy in a lady’s bathroom.

Nope. That’s not how anything works. If you think any person who hasn’t committed a legitimate crime or given you a legitimate reason to think they’re going to* deserves less rights than anyone else, you hate that person.

If you dress well in DC, people don’t take you seriously. They think you’re frivolous if you care about clothes and aren’t spending time on the bugdet, foreign policy or whatever.

I think it’s partly dress codes, but mostly fear of standing out. If you have not-cheap, well made, tailored, INTERESTING clothing, you stand out. Government folks do not like to stand out.

212 is such a good song, you horrible, awful, racist, garbage fire.

Except that the name is a direct reference to Keanu Reeves in John Wick, a movie about a man who violently avenges his puppy, who was killed by mobsters.

Counterpoint: Yes it was

The joke is that Key and Peele made a movie that borrows of the premise of the movie John Wick starring Keanu Reeves where Keanu goes on a killing spree after his puppy is murdered is in itself ridiculous, and then made a spoof that substitutes a kitten for the puppy and name it Keanu.

Have you ever watched Key and Peele? Do you get paid for this? Are you ripping off the review for the Guy Fieri Times Square restaurant? Am I doing it right?

“Remember Coach?......where is he?”
