lol at you both coming here to troll jezebel and instead just arguing amongst yourselves
My rephrasing is almost identical to your original and certainly captures the spirit. In any case, I don’t contest that these incidents incite backlash — frankly, they should.
Sorry, I’ll rephrase:
Please identify a contemporary, majority-white society that stones rape victims to death. Or one that treats women as property, for that matter — i.e, strips them of legal agency, permits them to be bought and sold by men.
Thankfully, human population groups don’t retain behavioral, cultural or cognitive traits through multiple generations.
This talking point from pro-immigration folks never ceases to amaze me. “These savageries are no cause for wariness re: new immigrants — the perpetrators were likely second-generation immigrants.”
They claim consistently that rape culture exists — just not in the Western world.
When I hear about a gang rape, my reflexive response is always, "ugh god now there's going to be backlash"
Would you support requiring migrants from the Middle East and North Africa to learn German?
Reported by witnesses per NYT, AP and every other major outlet. Even if witnesses are overstating and the number is one-tenth that — 100 — still an incredible number of participants in a premeditated gang-assault.
If women in predominantly-POC country were subject to a massive premeditated gang-assault like this — by a mob of 1,000 American and German men — and the government thereafter closed its borders temporarily to American and German men, could you really blame them?
