I swear I am not making this up:

Usually don’t comment, but wanted to add:

Some dude posted a screenshot from a taken down video with a theater that said “Scollay Square.” Scollay Square is what Government Center in Boston was called until the 60s when they bulldozed it to put in the new city hall. So it’s set in the Boston that the 50s thought would happen.

But see, everything you’re saying is correct.....which is why it’s NOT great. A steak that is surrounded by gummy fat and bones is not a good steak. It’s a steak that COULD have been good if someone cut it correctly.

All of mine (three boys) are out by 7. Seven!

Unless you go out and have more of them.

Dude you tell the truth. I’m a stay at home dad. I figure the youngest goes off to kindergarten in three years, and I’ll have my first off day in ten years.

HA! Sounds that way. And no, it didn’t come across that you thought it was just like parenting.

Congrats!

I don’t know, man. I see where you’re going with this, but the “work” of having kids isn’t the crying, or the diapers, or the sheer infinity of crumbs (I could feed several families for years with the crumbs my kids produce). Games don’t/can’t get it right because the real joy/strain of parenting is emotional.

And every generation, the analysts will write the obituary of console gaming. I seem to recall, round about 2012, the analysts saying that this console generation would fail, and games would migrate to mobile and PC for good.

It’s also a false fear, this fear that the “social justice warriors” (god how I hate that term) are going to completely upend all they hold dear. I live in what is, by any standard, a very liberal place. That being said, we have our share of rich folks, conservative folks, old folks who haven’t gotten the memo. And

But see, they didn’t “ask questions.” They interrupted, disrupted and had no desire nor intention of having a discussion, or even a debate. Indeed, the above quote notes that the points about how men are portrayed struck a chord with the panelists, who agreed with many of said points. These people were not thrown out

Beauty of language. Been around for thousands of years, yet every day we get to combine words in wonderful ways that no one has before. *****takes bow*****

Heh. Here in America, people forget that “free speech” is really “the freedom from the government restricting your speech in certain circumstances.” Even if this had been here in the good ol’ US of A, a convention is not the government. They can tell anyone they want to shut up.

Dude, “Don’t push feminism” basically means “Don’t talk about anything that says that women have a bum rap.” Back in the 50s, lots of people down south didn’t have a problem with black folk.....so long as they ate at their own lunch counters. Saying “hey, maybe we deserve to eat with y’all” was “pushing an agenda.”

“Equality” is not the same as “letting anyone say/do what they want.” If you have a convention for equal political/social rights, then the KKK and neo nazis have no place, nor do people who will go around being disruptive, be that blaring bullhorns or getting drunk and barfing on everyone’s shoes or whatever.

Yes, but as they have no rational ground to stand on, the only way they can say anything is to provoke reasonable people to ask them to leave so they can spin it. It’s all they’ve got left.

There are male MRAs? I don’t get it.

I will say this: if my kid ever IS that troll.....we will have words.
