In addition to what everyone else has said, a good reason those were acceptable is that it’s a lot like real life, where roads have billboards with ads on them. Yes, it’s crassly commercial, but only in the way that driving along real roads is.

Any game that starves you for rewards bad enough that you’d rather sit there watching adds instead of playing, is not worth your time or money.
Billboards in a driving game, ads on playing surfaces (e.g. hockey rinks) are fine.
“justify it by saying that because young people are “cord-cutters””
Honestly... THAT kind of advertising is acceptable. Ads during loading times are NOT ok... I’m skeptical that loading times can be artificially inflated to prolong ad exposure.
There is a difference between in world, passive advertising (what was in burnout paradise) and active advertising that interrupts the experience. I hope we can find out what these games are, so we can actively avoid them.
Did I write this? Are you me?
I think that’s good but for the most part you should let them ask for advice, or ask if they want it. I know I called my mom for advice allllllll the time in college but if she tried to advise me on something I was handling within my comfort level, it really annoyed me.
I might be overexposed but Zooms are like worse phone calls. This is like any other relationship in that if you want to make it better you consider the needs and likes of the other person. That means texting and asking about their interests/ interest you have in common.
Based on the latest trailer, any influences Martin may have had seem minimal at best. The lore and terminology used in the E3 trailer was standard Miyazaki proper noun nonsense.
Wasn’t he a villain in Quantum Break?
Quantum Break
I love Lance, I will watch damn near anything he does, but as a Resident Evil fan...
What the actual fuck?
Stop it. FUCKING STOP IT. What the fuck is wrong with these suits who continuously make these decisions? What kind of asinine, backwards ass thinking leads to these “Lets spend millions to license this IP, but chang…
good, crunch is just poor management/greed. crunch gets exacerbated in software development due to how difficult it is to bring someone up to speed partway through development. you can’t just hire another programmer and have them slot in perfectly. it can take literal weeks for someone to read through and understand…
This is what happens when you announce a technical alpha with a lot of fanfare, but only invite a handful of people and allow them to stream. Other not-so-lucky people that didn’t make it in will want a piece of that pie.
That far exceeded any expectations I had and I laughed pretty much constantly through that. While it was constantly good-natured, I still adored how hard they went at Snyder’s tropes in his movies and how well he rolled with it.
All his superhero movies are trash, but my opinion of Snyder has improved exponentially in the past week, after seeing the surprisingly fun Army of the Dead and now this sketch where he basically makes fun of himself for seven minutes. There aren’t many big-name Hollywood directors who’d be willing to take the piss…
It’s a timing thing. Seems to be charging for 5 frames then release.
That herbal medicine is amazing. Even mends his jacket sleeve, too!
Yeah, sure it’s Kotaku that is biased here. Come on. Your comments are absurd.
