I think that just the fact that you can resell them for monetary value should be a huge exclamation mark for lawmakers. It's basically a highly volatile stock market that children can partake in.

TBH I thought that VV already ceased to exist when they did the merger since their logo doesn't even appear in the intro sequence of Diablo 2 Ressurected. This is no surprise.

Depends on platform. For PC, really no reason to hold onto physical because most require activation through a digital platform + very competitive prices from 3rd party sellers (legit ones listed on IsThereAnyDeal, not g2a!).
