Nope. The nicest Crown Vic was the Town Car. That last Continental was a FWD chassis, basically a stretched Taurus.
Nobody is going to pay 100k for a car they have to get serviced at a Ford dealership.
Exactly my theory. They need to build the Continental as an S-Class competitor or a Bently/Aston competitor.
Don’t be dense. I didn’t say it was the same damn car. Obviously it isn’t.
Anytime someone says “ Bruh” indicates I cannot take anything they say seriously.
Because most consumers know what platform a car is made on...
Take the family lineage seriously (and we are talking about Mercedes here, after all) and what we now call the E-class is part of an unbroken line that started in the 1950s (Pontons, fintails, slash eights, W123s, W124s where the E designation really took hold, W210s, 211s, 212s and the current 213s).
They definitely need to give it more time. The E-class they’re comparing it to has been around since, what, the mid 90s? That’s a lot of time for iterative improvement.
Perhaps partially because this and other sites just absolutely skewered the car before it was even available to buy. I’ve seen a few on the road and they actually look surprisingly nice. Its also probably because since it doesn’t have any of the BMW/Mercedes/Audi badges.
I’m so annoyed. Just kill that annoying MKZ. It’s useless as base versions of the Continental are so decontended that they essentially compete with the MKZ. Give the nameplate another generation to grow. It would be a shame to throw away all of that R&D after just a few years.
