I actually worked for a non-kill animal shelter for a while, and adopted my dog from the dog pound (which does euthanize) in the same town. So, I know some stuff about both and there are huge pluses and minuses.
It’s nice for people who’ve never worked in a shelter to have this idealistic view that every animal can be saved. They don’t see what awful physical and emotional pain these poor dogs and cats suffer.
