I find it especially curious given that a majority of women I know have been in situations in which men have come on to them — at work or otherwise. They have routinely said, “I’m not interested” or “Get your hands off me right now.” And they’ve taken the risk that comes with it.

I’ll never understand how these morons manage to turn a bunch of women saying, “Don’t grab us or show us your dicks without being asked to” , into nobody can ever interact with women or they’ll be accused of harassment.

For a woman who claims to be worried about the men in all this so much she doesn’t half ignore the fact a lot of men talked about their experiences as part of #MeToo.

This argument sort of falls apart when you compare the ratings of pre and post Matt Lauer Today Shows.

But Matt Lauer was paid a lot because he was a tent pole in NBC News’ brand. Why viewers were so loyal to him, I’ll never know. But comparing two women who haven’t been huge names at NBC for decades with a man who basically *was* NBC for decades isn’t really fair.

Matt Lauer’s salary was obviously grossly over-inflated. Some degree of correction seems reasonable, but the optics are pretty bad considering the context.

“Your assumption is that I have something to defend myself against,” he told me. “I don’t.”

I wrote elsewhere that it’s notable how often all it takes to derail a woman’s career is to be labeled “difficult.” And yet people fall over themselves to work with difficult, even monstrous men.

I believe Peter Jackson, not just because the Weinsteins are scum bags, but because Peter Jackson has demonstrated himself to be a good person in his personal life.

For sure. I’ve never understood how “comedian” types can take stale outdated bigotry and then try to claim it’s cool and edgy. What, you’re a misogynist just like people were in the 1950s? Wow, you’re pretty brave. /s
It’s way edgier to NOT be a sexist asshole.

I worked with a woman once who was otherwise a cool smart

Yeah, but you’re a dude. Do you KNOW how many lectures I got from guys and gals alike about how I was just being uptight and it was all in good fun and omg it’s not like he MEANS it it’s all just jokes and gawd just get a sense of humor for ONCE omg you know feminists just have no sense of humor...

I’ve been hating on that dude for over a decade so yeah, I think we’re long past it being okay to hate that smug crapface. And I was a dude in high school/college when his shit was going strong so I was prime audience for it, but it always completely repulsed me. Like... ugh. I don’t know, that site was everywhere in

Oh thank god, are we allowed to just openly hate on Tucker Max now?

Or had a friend record him having sex with a woman without her knowledge.

The pull this shit all the time. When do they get fined or seriously shamed? I am so tired of Corporations being bullies.

Bullshit, Anthropologie! Pay the woman what you owe!

Expect to be coddled. Yep, screw off with that bullshit.

There is a difference between advising women not to let their guard down and saying that women who ostensibly have let their guard down are making excuses for fucking up when they get raped while their guard is down. Will I advise my daughter to be careful and not drink too much at parties lest she end up incapable of

Came here to say that I listen to this every year and it’s extremely gratifying to know I’m not the only one! I, on the other hand, have watched this adaption hundreds of times. Susan Sarandon (pre political ravings)! Christian Bale (pre beating up his mom)! Kirsten Dunst! And my lord and savior Winona, this is a

I hadn’t seen this movie in at least ten years and on Thanksgiving we hid from family and watched it because my beloved had never watched it.
